REAL FRUIT BUBBLE TEA VAN MILLS— BRAND INTEGRATION & STORE DESIGN

Real Fruit Bubble Tea is a well-established bubble tea brand with locations across Canada. This project is the Vaughan Mills branch — a store designed to translate the brand's existing identity into a more spatially expressive, experience-driven environment. The challenge was to take a recognizable brand and give it a physical home that goes beyond a standard franchise format, turning a fixed structural column at the center of the floor into the heart of the brand story.

REAL FRUIT BUBBLE TEA VAN MILLS— BRAND INTEGRATION & STORE DESIGN

THE BRIEF

Real Fruit Bubble Tea came to me with a layered ask: design a bubble tea shop that feels welcoming for families, give young guests something to do while parents wait, and turn an awkward structural column into a feature rather than an obstacle. The brand is built on honest ingredients and an easygoing, community-first personality, and the space needed to reflect all of it — fun without being childish, useful without losing design intention, and unmistakably Be Real from the moment a guest walks in.

THE CONCEPT

The concept began with the column. Rather than hide it, I let it become the centerpiece — sculpting it into an oversized bubble tea cup that gives the brand a physical icon at the heart of the room. Its rim opens up into a built-in bookshelf, offering young guests something to reach for while parents order, turning idle waiting time into a small, useful moment. From the top of the cup, a curved timber band spirals outward like steam rising from a freshly made drink, traveling across the ceiling and landing at the counter — visually connecting the experience back to its source. The wall continues the gesture in soft line drawings, so the entire room reads as one long, quiet exhale of aroma. Function, brand, and play are folded into a single architectural move.

THE EXPERIENCE

Real Fruit Bubble Tea was designed to turn an everyday stop into a small, memorable pause — a moment of warmth in the middle of a busy mall. By weaving function and story into a single gesture — the cup, the shelf, the spiraling aroma, the counter at its source — the space delivers the brand without ever raising its voice. Guests don't just buy a drink here; they step inside the world the drink comes from.
